Some of the issues covered include: the elements of a culture, intercultural competence as a learned skill, tolerance, norms, co-cultures, the role of language in communication, historical conflicts, and global social inequities. Content and lectures will come from a multicultural perspective and require original research and readings on cultural traditions and norms.
