    This introductory course explores the concepts of sculpture through the use of plaster, metal, wood, and mixed media as expressive mediums. This course will emphasize self expression and development of personal imagery as well as technical aspects of working with these materials. Demonstrations and lab assignments focus on modeling, casting, carving and assembling techniques. Lectures will highlight the use of these versatile media from contemporary, cultural and historical perspectives. Students will learn and practice using sculpture terminology, as well as the vocabulary of design elements and principles.
