Transfers ToCSUDescriptionAn introduction to the tools, materials and techniques of painting in oil and acrylic media. The student will select the medium of preference. This course emphasizes the process of painting, through rigorous exercises as well as longer-term assignments that apply principles presented in lectures and readings. Coursework includes studies and practice in a variety of subject matters and styles of painting, which may include still life, landscape, abstraction, fantasy, figure, and portrait studies, as well as the use of applied light and color theory, and composition.
