    Description
Students are introduced to the art and craft of acting, with a focus on freeing the actor's voice, body and mind to begin to realize the possibilities for creative expression. Topics of study include: responding to impulse and working as an ensemble (through exercises, theater games, and improvisation); and the actor's homework: researching a role, analyzing a text, and breaking down a script from an actor's point of view. The semester-long investigation culminates in monologue work, scene study, rehearsal methods, and working with a director.
