    The course covers the fundamentals of information representation and storage organization in computer systems. Topics include computer hardware components, typical computer architectures, instruction formats, addressing modes, stacks, the instruction execution cycle, assembly language instruction formats, compiler translation, optimizing compilers, dissemblers, loaders and simulators, system interrupts, virtual memory, boolean algebra and logic gates, combinational logic and sequential devices. THIS COURSE REPLACED CO SCI 816 IN SPRING 2020. STUDENTS CAN NOT EARN CREDIT FOR BOTH CS 130 AND CO SCI 816.
