    This course presents the theory and practice of computer networking. It covers the principles and techniques used in designing data networks. Topics include networking theory, network design and implementation, network management, data communication fundamentals, noise effects, network communications and protocols, topologies, transmission methods, as well as architecture, the presentation, modeling and performance analysis of various type of networks including (LANs, WANs, and WiFi), maintenance and troubleshooting, and network security. This course has a comprehensive coverage of fundamental networking technologies, with a focus on major operating systems. THIS COURSE REPLACED CO SCI 863 IN SPRING 2020. STUDENTS MAY NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR BOTH CO SCI 863 AND CIS 210.
