Emphasis is placed on the concepts within each domain including: metabolism, emergencies, stress & coping, mood & affect, cognition, addictive behavior, safety & infection control, diversity, health promotion, communication, professional behaviors, clinical reasoning/judgment, health care system, and ethics. The community as a site for care and support services is addressed. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient care to patients in selected mental health settings. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze safe nursing care incorporating the concepts discussed in this course.
