Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course introduces students to the field of professional education and the concepts and issues that are related to K - 8 education. Topics of this course include a basic understanding of a teacher's role and challenges in society, contemporary education issues within historical, social, philosophical, legal, and political contexts, impact of government policies on schools and children, and the various perspectives on curriculum and instruction. Students are required to complete a minimum of 45 hours of fieldwork in an approved elementary, self-contained classroom.� TB test, finger print (live scan), and background check may be required by individual elementary school.
