Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionIn this noncredit course students gain the necessary skills required to work as EKG Technicians. Students learn and practice the fundamental skills related to operating the electrocardiograph (EKG machine). Topics include: EKG interpretation, medical disease processes, legal aspects of patient contact, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement, 12-lead placement and other EKG practices. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Progress indicators are issued for this class including Pass (P), Satisfactory Progress (SP), and No Pass (NP). This is not an open entry/open exit course.
