It aids the student in selecting from available data those factors which are likely to give some practical help to those seeking guidance in the choice of a marriage partner and in the necessary adjustments of marriage and family life. The factors include studies of sex (gender) roles, legal controls, religious attitudes, mixed marriages, financial and family planning and a review of community resources for family counseling and the role of legislation.
