The course will review changes in the Constitution of the United States, amendments and interpretations, the rights and obligations of citizens, present day relationships between state, local and federal governments, historical, geographical, intellectual, cultural, economic, political and social interaction between major ethnic groups in the United States. Topics include segregation, Southern politics and culture, its Northern counterpart, WWI, WWII, diplomatic developments, Vietnam, modern industrial structure, economic growth and urban demographic patterns.
