    Geographic Information Systems (GIS) describe the specific software and set of techniques designed to manipulate, interpret and display geographic data. This course examines the basic principles and methods of GIS, including: computer representation of geographic data, map projections, coordinate systems, vector and raster data models, spatial analysis, and effective map design.
