The basic science required to understand how our environmental systems work is presented. Topics discussed include the atmosphere, soils and agriculture, water resources and water pollution, sources of pollution and management of wastes, energy supply and usage, and alternative energy sources. Impacts of man's activities on environmental systems are presented and discussed. Finally, potential solutions to reduce or eliminate these impacts are described.
