    Students examine the theoretical underpinnings of statistical theory through research discussion and participation in practical investigations of core introduc- tory statistical topics. Main topics include descriptive statistics; probability theory and sampling distributions; hypothesis testing and statistical inference; t-tests; analysis of variance, correlation and linear regression; chi-square; the utilization of technology and statistical software for statistical analysis, including the interpreta- tion of statistical findings to address social and behavioral science research ques- tions and practical applications; and reporting statistical and research conclusions in APA style.
