    Description
    May be offered as an honors section. Students examine the logic of the scientific analysis of political and social institu- tions. Analyzes the various methodological tools utilized in social science research and emphasizes clarification of basic social science issues. Topics include research design, conceptualization, measurement, sampling methodology, and both quali- tative and quantitative data analysis. The work of several scholars is evaluated and students develop their own research design related to a political issue.
