    Description
In this course, students examine the concepts of psychiatric nursing based on cur- rent theory and practice in the care of the mentally ill. These concepts utilize Doenges and Moorhouse's Diagnostic Divisions (DMDDs), Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN), and the Nursing Process to formulate care plan- ning and management. Students engage in discussion relating to psychosocial, physical, legal and illness stressors as they relate to the individual and family. Students participate in a variety of clinically based experiences.
