Students are introduced to spatial analysis and automation. They review the prin- ciples of statistics and relate them to methods used in spatial analysis. These meth- ods include proximity and overlay analysis, interpolation techniques, site suitabili- ty analysis, spatial statistics, space-time analysis, and geospatial regression tech- niques. Automation using ModelBuilder, ArcGIS Arcade, and Python is also covered. 040 Applied GIS (1) CSU Lecture 1 hour. Prerequisite: GEOG 038 or GIS 038 with a grade of "C" or better. Students apply GIS skills and knowledge to create an independent real-world GIS project under the supervision of a faculty advisor. This capstone course in the GIS Certificate of Achievement includes periodic meetings with the advisor, complet- ing interim reports, and presenting a project with professional-quality maps.
