Students analyze graphic novels as literature and gain proficiency in reading and writing through the application of the principles of rhetoric and the techniques of critical thinking. The scope of the class encompasses from the origin of comics through current graphic novels. Students explore character, plot, dialogue, setting and other storytelling elements using various literary lenses to analyze the futures and fantasies created by graphic fiction writers and illustrators.
