    Formerly CO INFO 501. Credit not given for both courses. Students learn concepts, techniques, and terminology of computing. Students examine information technologies and information systems used in business, data- base management systems, networking, e-commerce, ethics and security. Students apply these concepts and methods through hands-on projects developing com- puter-based solutions to business problems. Students discover the possibilities and problems of computer use in historical, economic and social contexts. Students learn to use common productivity applications. Students develop college-level and workplace skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation in a practi- cal lab environment, along with a conceptual view of databases, visual program- ming, and Internet methods and procedures.
