    Description
    Kelp forests are some of the most biodiverse marine habitats. In this course, stu- dents will be introduced to kelp forests by learning the principles of community ecology, the biology of giant kelp, and the composition of Southern California fish, algae, and invertebrate communities within kelp forests. The class will end with a snorkeling trip at Catalina Island.
