When non-traditional community leaders understand the interplay between their story, their role in the fundraising landscape, and the manner in which to present community projects that considers the expectations of funders, the chances of acquiring desired resources increase. Students will develop a philanthropic autobiography statement that guides how to navigate the world of fundraising. The course will introduce how to identify grant funding resources, developing donors, basic grant writing, and other approaches to empower non-tra- ditional leaders and community-based organizations to sus- tain their work to improve social conditions.
