- (CSU) 3 UNITS Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 3 hours This course introduces fire technology: Career opportunities, philosophy and history of fire protection, fire loss analysis, fire protection functions and systems, basic fire chemistry and physics, and fire strategy and tactics. The course describes the organization of fire departments, their relation to local gov- ernments, and the laws regulating fire service.
