    Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 5 hours This course is for ESL students at the intermediate level who need to improve their linguistic and communicative compe- tence in English to function effectively as parents, workers, and community members living in the United States. The course emphasizes level-appropriate grammar, vocabulary, listening/speaking, reading/writing, critical thinking, and 21st century skills in activities related to daily life, work, com- munity, civics, current events, and college and career readi- ness.
