    Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 5 hours This course is for ESL students at the beginning level who need to acquire basic life skills and communicative compe- tence in English to function as parents, workers, and commu- nity members living in the United States. The course emphasizes basic English grammar, vocabulary development, 21st century skills, listening/speaking and reading/writing skills in a variety of activities related to daily life, community, civics, and college and career readiness. This is the second of a two-course sequence.
