    (UC:CSU:C-ID ENGL 120) 3 UNITS Prerequisite: ENGL C1000 or ENGLISH 101X or 101Y or 101Z or E.S.L. 110 | Lecture: 3 hours An introduction to critical analysis of poetry, novels, short stories, and drama. A variety of analytical strategies will be used to distinguish between deductive and inductive reason- ing. Emphasis is placed on writing a research paper.
