    (CSU) 2 UNITS Prerequisites: CH DEV 022 or CH DEV 038 | Lecture: 2 hours Methods and principles of supervising adults in early child- hood education settings with emphasis on the role of admin- istrators and experienced teachers acting as mentors to new teachers. This course is required for upper levels of the California Child Development Permit, and to become a California Early Childhood Mentor. Students compare meth- ods and principles of supervision and mentoring as well as how to develop positive team relationships and utilize conflict resolution techniques. Additional emphasis is placed on advo- cacy and professional development as well as special issues affecting ECE supervision. This course is required for upper levels of the California Child Development Permit, and to become a California Early Childhood Mentor.
