    Prerequisites: BIOTECH 002 and BIOTECH 003 Lecture: 2 hours | Lab: 6 hours This course provides an introduction to techniques for cultur- ing cells, including media preparation, sterile technique, freezing, thawing, subculturing, and maintaining cells. Theory includes the selection of media, maintaining sterile conditions, and preventing contamination. Practical experi- ence includes the proper use and care of equipment for cul- turing cells. Stem cell technology is also examined.
