    Prerequisite: None | Advisory: ENGL C1000 | Lecture: 3 hours An introductory survey of American art from its pre-Colonial past to the contemporary era with a focus on the social, politi- cal, economic, and philosophical conditions that have resulted in a culturally diverse artistic tradition. The artistic traditions and influences of European immigrants, Native Americans, Chicano Americans, Latin Americans, and European Americans are studied in relation to historical contexts.
