- Prerequisite: ART 300 | Advisories: ART 201 Lecture: 2 hours | Lab: 3 hours Introduction to principles, elements, and practices of oil paint- ing through a historical lens. The focus is on an exploration of oil painting materials, perceptual skills, and color theory, paint mixing, and technique, as well as creative responses to materials and content.
