Applies the concept of fulfillment of customers wants and needs at a fair profit to department stores, mass merchandizing outlets, independent and chain stores , and non-store retailing, such as e-tailing. Math/Statistics Placement Information Many math and statistics courses (in BUS, MATH, and STAT) have prerequisites--conditions that must be met prior to enrollment. The Math/Statistics placement process uses information from student applications to determine which prerequisites have already been met and which courses are available as a result. The results are available in the student portal at http://mycollege.laccd.edu/ in the "Student Status" tile "Placement Results" link. For students who graduated from an accredited US high school or earned a GED or California High School Equivalency Certificate, Math/Statistics placement is based the courses they passed, either in high school or at the college level: � Passing Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Integrated Math 4, or Trigonometry (or equivalent or higher) results in an "MT4 � Calculus I" placement. At this level, if Calculus I is required for the major, MATH 265 or 265S is recommended. Otherwise, any of the following that are required may be taken: BUS 015; MATH 215, 229, 230, 234, 236; STAT 001 or 001S, C1000 or C1000E. * � Passing Intermediate Algebra or Integrated Math 3 (or equivalent) results in an "MT2 � Pre-Calculus" placement. At this level, if Calculus I is required for the major, enrollment is permitted in MATH 260, 265 or 265S, but the sequence MATH 260 then MATH 265 is recommended. Otherwise, any of the following that are required may be taken: BUS 015; MATH 215, 229, 230, 234, 236; STAT 001 or 001S, C1000 or C1000E. � Not passing the above results in a "MT1 � Transfer-level Mathematics Prior to Pre-Calculus" placement. At this level, if Calculus I is required for the major, enrollment is permitted in MATH 240, 260, 265 or 265S, but the sequence MATH 240, 241, or 241S then MATH 260 then MATH 265 is recommended. Otherwise, any of the following that are required may be taken: BUS 015; MATH 215, 229, 230, 234, 236; STAT 001 or 001S, C1000 or C1000E. * Students who have achieved the following may be eligible for a higher placement, but should consult a counselor to ensure this will be accepted by transfer institution(s): � A score of at least 3 on the AP Calculus BC exam can enable enrollment in MATH 267 and/or MATH 270. � A score of at least 3 on the AP Calculus BC exam AB sub-score or AP Calculus AB exam can enable enrollment in MATH 266. � A score of 5 on the IB HL Math Analysis and Approaches exam (2021 or after) or HL Math exam (before 2021) can enable enrollment in 265 or 265S. For students who did not provide a US high school GPA or who did not graduate from a US high school (or equivalent as described above), a placement of "MN � No Math Placement" is assigned. Such students may complete their placement using the "Math/Statistics Survey" linked to the "Student Status" tile "Placement Results" link on the website described above. That survey will enable them to choose any of the above placements.
