    This is an intermediate level course designed to build reading skills required to meet the California Secondary Education Common Core Standards in Language Arts and prepare students for High School Equivalency examinations and college readiness. Skill competencies include develop strategies that assist them in understanding and responding to intermediate- level reading material. Skills include evaluating different forms of readings, summarizing, questioning validity and relevance of information, analyzing, and synthesizing of information.
