This is an introduction to the basic statistical methods and analyses commonly used in sociology, political science, economics, psychology, and other related disciplines. Students learn the use of probability techniques, hypothesis testing, and predictive techniques to facilitate decision-making. Topics include: descriptive and inferential statistics that include levels and types of measurement; measures of central tendency and dispersion; normal distributions; analysis of variance, chi-square, and t-tests; probability and hypothesis testing; and correlation and linear regression. Students apply technology to statistical analysis, including in the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. SPANISH (SPANISH)
