Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course introduces the student to the predominant cultural patterns of Western Civilization as expressed in great works of literature and art from the Ancient Greeks through the medieval periods and up to the Renaissance. Literature, drama, painting, sculpture, and architecture are studied in relation to their historical background. The student is introduced to general concepts of the humanities, including applied aesthetics. Comparisons to relevant Asian and African mythologies are also explored.
