Transfers ToCSUDescriptionStudents are introduced to the history, theory, aesthetics, and criticism as applied to typography. Students learn and apply basic principles of typography, which includes a survey of type from its origins to current uses for print, web, video, animation, and mobile. Using hand skills and the computer, students focus on typographic design, resonance, and composition and develop skills regarding visually interesting letter forms and their uses in typographic design with a focus on appropriate solutions, visual interest, and craftsmanship.
