Topics that are covered include pattern recognition, problem solving, sets, numeration systems, number theory, and models and algorithms for operations with whole numbers, integers, rational numbers and decimals. Writing is emphasized throughout the course, as is the problem solving process. The lab incorporates individual and group activities in the exploration of topics.
