It develops reading and writing skills of Heritage Khmer speakers. The Khmer 9 course also increases student’s oral proficiency and understanding of Khmer cultural practices. Students explore Khmer colloquial usage and common spellings to gain an understanding of how to use Khmer characters in word formation. This course includes extensive analysis of the Khmer writing system, conventions in spelling, and key vocabulary delivered through a culturally rich content and community-based learning.
