The course examines histories of racial formation, agency, racial identities, and intersectionality. Together, these themes will provide a basis for a better understanding of the socioeconomic, cultural and political conditions shaping diverse groups and will foster an enhanced appreciation of the complexity of the processes that affect the interactions and identities of the American people.
