    Description
    This course provides a comprehensive survey of African American social, political and economic development in the United States from the Reconstruction Period to the present. Emphasis is placed on Jim Crow and white supremacy, the modern civil rights movement and the new struggle for community economic development. Special attention is given to inequality of educational and employment opportunity in the twenty-first century.
