The instructional emphasis is on macroeconomic policy. This course examines the functioning of a mixed enterprise system. Topics will include the economic role of government, determination of national income, the banking system, and Federal Reserve policy. The attention is focused on such problems as the level of unemployment, the rate of inflation, balance of payments, the nation’s total output of goods and services, economic growth, fiscal and monetary policies.
