    Description
    Due to the expanding Wildland/ Urban Interface and the increasing interaction on Multi-jurisdictional incidents. This course is designed to provide a refresher of skills and methods used for structural firefighting to federal Wildland firefighters and is specific to the USDA United States Forest Service. Topics include: the use of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Don and Doff of Structural PPE, and fire suppression tactics of common passenger vehicle and dumpster fires. Students will be required to work as a team to accomplish assigned tasks and be informed of concepts common in structural firefighting. This course is intended to provide operational information on SCBA, Structural PPE, and will provide training to protect firefighters from injury or mishap when engaged in activities where an Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) environment is suspected, excluding confined spaces. This course is repeatable as needed for certification.
