The course asks how "nature" (the nonhuman, the environment, ecology, etc.) is perceived, interpreted, and represented in "culture"(customs, arts, social institutions, etc.). The course includes studies in visual art (i.e. painting, photography, sculpture, land art, mixed media), film, philosophy, literature, and music.
