Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is a historical survey of the United States, from Indigenous North America to the end of Reconstruction. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Emphasis on distinctively American patterns of political, economic, social, intellectual, and geographic developments, the interaction amongst and the experiences of diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups in American History, and the evolution of American institutions and ideals including the U.S. Constitution, the operations of the U.S. government, and the rights and obligations of U.S. citizens under the Constitution.
