Emphasis is placed on learning complex grammatical structures, as well as on a wide variety of communication tasks that are used in speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Emphasis is also placed on the study of Spanish literature, which is used to enhance the student's linguistic ability and draw them into a greater cultural understanding of the people whose language they are learning.
