Topics include deductive and inductive reasoning, common fallacies, language, and impediments to cogent reasoning. Emphasis will be on developing abilities to analyze, construct, and evaluate arguments that are relevant to everyday life experiences, politics, economics, society, advertising, the media, and important current affairs.
