Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis course is designed to assure a basic, predictable, and replicable level of safety, knowledge, skills, and abilities among those individuals currently employed or attempting to be assigned to a federal, state, local, volunteer, or industrial fire department and members of local or federal Search And Rescue (SAR) teams. Students will learn through hands-on applications and classroom instruction the necessary skills to perform as a member of a first responder crew. Skills taught include fire suppression, emergency medical response, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, fire prevention and investigation, fire management, and incident command. All hours are TBA and focus on achieving the stated student learning outcomes to meet the mandated training requirements put forth by CAL OSHA and the California State Fire Marshal, State Board of Fire Services.
