Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides an introduction to educational philosophies for educating young children with exceptional needs. Typical and atypical developmental characteristics and abilities in infants and preschoolers are explored as well as the unique characteristics and needs of exceptional children and their families. Also included are the historical and legislative foundation for civil rights and educational services for individuals with disabilities. Emphasis will be given to professional roles and collaboration, locating community resources, and developing an awareness of cultural issues and considerations.
