- This is the first quarter of a three-quarter course in organic chemistry intended for majors in science and allied health fields. This course introduces the principles of organic chemistry including nomenclature, stereochemistry, functional groups, reaction mechanisms, and properties of aliphatic and unsaturated hydrocarbons and alkyl halides.
