The course traces the development of the play in themes, characterization, and dramatic structure considering philosophical and cultural backgrounds and production styles that have influenced the staging of plays. In this honors course student writing assignments are more rigorous than in the non-honors course. Topics covered in more depth than the standard course may include acting, directing or stagecraft.
