    Prerequisite
    SPAN 2H - SPAN 2H or three years of high school Spanish. Synthesize lexical and grammatical components in order to interpret spoken Spanish using a recognition vocabulary of approximately 2,000 words. Synthesize lexical and grammatical components in order to produce spoken Spanish from an active lexicon of approximately 1000 words. Analyze and interpret short dialogs, advertisements, and 200 to 400 word essays written in Spanish.     Description
    This course improves the student's ability to comprehend native spoken Spanish and increases oral fluency. Reading and writing activities enable students to acquire new vocabulary and structures and examine various aspects of Hispanic culture.
