Students will learn to identify components of music such as meter, texture, tempo, dynamics, orchestration and style characteristics. Students will also learn biographical information regarding significant composers, as well as cultural, economic, political, religious, and social contexts in which these traditions have existed. May require attendance at live concerts. Credit may be earned in either MUS 20 or 20H, but not both.
